Ingrédients (6 portions)

  • olive oil 1 tablespoon
  • chopped bacon 2 slices
  • finely chopped onion 1
  • celery 1 stalk
  • carrot 1 medium
  • minced garlic 2 cloves
  • ground beef 500 g
  • tomato paste 1 tablespoon
  • chopped tomatoes 800 g
  • honey 1 tablespoon
  • lasagna sheets approx. 9
  • white sauce or béchamel 2 cups
  • grated cheese 1 cup
  • salt and pepper to taste

    Heat the oil in a large pot and cook the bacon for a few minutes.

    Add onion, celery, and carrot; cook for about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.

    Add the ground beef and brown it, breaking it up as it cooks.

    Stir in the tomato paste, chopped tomatoes, and honey. Season and simmer for about 20 minutes.

    Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Assemble the lasagna by alternating layers of meat sauce, pasta, béchamel, and cheese.

    Bake for about 35 to 40 minutes, until the lasagna is bubbling. Let it rest for 10 minutes before cutting.
