Ingrédients (4 portions)

  • flank steak 1 lb
  • oil (canola or olive) 1 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • medium onion (sliced) 1
  • garlic cloves (minced) 2
  • beef broth 1 cup
  • soy sauce (reduced sodium) 2 tbsp
  • Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp
  • Dijon mustard (optional) 1 tsp
  • thyme or rosemary (optional) 1 tsp
  • bay leaf (optional) 1
  • cornstarch 1 tbsp
  • cold water 2 tbsp

Préparation

    Set the Instant Pot to Sauté mode. Add oil and sear the whole flank steak or large pieces for 1 to 2 minutes per side. Season with salt and pepper. Remove and set aside.

    Add the onion to the pot and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until lightly browned. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

    Deglaze with a little broth, scraping the bottom of the pot thoroughly.

    Add the remaining broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, herbs, and bay leaf.

    Return the meat to the pot. Close the lid.

    Pressure cook (Pressure Cook / Manual) for 25 minutes.

    Allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then perform a quick release.
Notes & Astuces du chef

Chef's Tips: Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta for a complete meal. For a thicker sauce, add more cornstarch.
